3 Tablespoons margarine 2 Tablespoons cocoa 3/4 cup SPLENDA granular 2 Tablespoons milk 2 Tablespoons margarine 3 oz cream cheese, softened 1 cup SPLENDA granular 3 eggs 1/2 cup + 1 Tablespoon all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons vanilla 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
In a saucepan, melt the 3 Tablespoons of margarine. Stir in the cocoa, splenda and milk. Set aside to cool.
Beat the 2 Tablespoons of margarine with the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add 1/4 cup splenda, 1 egg, 1 Tablespoon flour and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Blend. Set aside.
Beat 2 eggs very well and add the remaining 3/4 cup splenda. Sift together the baking powder, salt and remaining 1/2 cup of flour and fold into the egg mixture. Stir in the cooled chocolate, the almond extract and remaining 1 teaspoon vanilla. Set aside 1/3 cup of the chocolate batter.
Spread the remaining chocolate batter in a breased 8" square baking pan. Pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top. Drop the reserved chocolate batter by the teaspoonfuls on top and swirl with a knife. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
Makes 16 brownies.
